WSL 2025
Our inaugural year in the WSL was a success and has laid strong foundations for the upcoming season and beyond. In 2024, many of our highly talented young players experienced playing at WSL level. They were not daunted by the challenge but instead rose to it.
As a group we are not resting on past success. We are looking to take another significant step forward next season. We want to play our exciting brand of football and consistently challenge the top teams in the WSL in 2025.
I am pleased that Jason Hay has been reappointed as WSL Assistant Coach. Jason will also take on the development role of under 18s Head Coach next season, as we strive to bring even closer playing connections between our WSL and under 18 players. Jason and I have both recently completed our AFC B-Diploma in Football Coaching together. We work well together and share a common focus of building a positive and supportive team culture. We have strong faith in our existing young playing group and are excited to see the next group of talented young players coming through our Youth Academy.
We have also brought in Ben Hamlett as a strength & conditioning trainer to work with our WSL and under 18 girls. Ben has a wealth of credentials and experience in this field and, importantly, with working with female athletes. Ben will lift the athletic profile of our group, with a clear focus on injury prevention. We want to put our players in the best possible position to succeed, whether that be at WSL level, as part of the State programs or wherever their football journeys may take them.
Pre-season training will be 6.30-8.00pm Tuesdays (Queenswalk) and Thursdays (KGV), commencing 26 November 2023 before breaking for Christmas and resuming in the New Year. New players enquiries are always welcome. Please call me on 0466 940 296.
